Our Pal, Sal
What do the World Series teams have in common? Some things you know and maybe some you don’t. Lots has been made of the fact they are both small market teams with low payrolls. Both the MLBPA and the League are running with that to sell their opinions on a salary cap. A bit has been made of the first series to take place completely in domed ballparks – to which Patti argues “Roofball” is a better phrase since American Family Field’s roof is retractable. Experts (well, one) agree that it makes the MIL ballpark far superior to the Trop. A misguided attempt has been made to classify this as a Short Kings series, but in what world is 6’ short, and Pottymouth proves you have to take out all the pitchers – they are some Very Tall Men – to make the math work to defend “short.” Not nearly enough is being made of the haunted hotels in both cities, where visiting teams stay. So we do. Watch some LVBP and look for Wanda Rodriguez. Congrats to Francisco Lindor on being named the Roberto Clemente winner this year, and thank you to Payton Tolle for just being you. We’re both rooting for the Brewers but Pottymouth wants more baseball and Patti just wants to get it done before the Rays gain any traction. And we leave you with the question, Would you prefer a Game 7 or to go out on Halloween?
We say, “It was just short of adorable,” “Maybe a muted game with a lovey red is the thing,” and “Anything below 5’10” is 5’9”.” Fight the man, go see some live sports, send your game balls to Meredith, and find us on Bluesky @ncibpodcast, on Facebook @nocryinginbball, Instagram @nocryinginbball and on the Interweb at nocryinginbball.com.
