Clenching, not Clinching

Patti 00:17
Hi and welcome to episode 476 of No Crying in Baseball, the Mike, Nick, and Chris episode. My name is Patti. I'm here with my friend Pottymouth. Hey, Pottymouth.

Pottymouth 00:26
Hey there. I'm looking forward to meeting Mike, Nick, and Chris. I guess you're gonna want to be them when you hear what happened with them. Be them. Yeah. Excellent. Yes. Excellent.

Patti 00:33
Yeah, they seem like good guys. How are we? How are you doing?

Pottymouth 00:36
I am doing fair. So, folks, we are recording a little earlier than usual right now. It is 2o'clock Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, september 20, and that is because tonight is Yom Kippur, and because I need to eat a lot. First, I need to edit, and then I need to eat a lot, and then there's evening services. We're doing this a little early, which you know affects things somewhat in not knowing about today's games, right? Tonight's games, and last night instead of watching baseball, I I wanted to watch the Red Sox last night because they could have, they didn't. Hopefully, by the time you're listening, they have they could have clinched their wild cards card spot. But instead of watching them clinch, we saw Mark Maron. Did you ever listen to WTF his his podcast? So it's one of the first, right? And it was there forever. And he had some wonderful episodes. I listened to him for a long time. Sometimes I would take breaks because he was very nar. I don't know narcissistic in a self effacing way, if that makes any sense. So no, no, it whatsoever. But go ahead, tell me more. It's like all about him. Like he used the podcast to process his shit, and he was very open about it. All right, but so it's definitely you know it's all about me. But he's critical of himself at the same time. So I had seen a little bit of his comedy, and I just wanted to go because he stopped. I don't know how many months ago they stopped the podcast, and it just it was something that I would just go to once in a while to hear I don't know a middle aged Jewish white guy kvetch a little bit like that's kind of like that's what you need in your life. It is it is, and I like I just relate to him on so many things a little bit on this sort of like high strung anxiety level once in a while you know a little bit of the self criticism stuff, and so I just felt like I would need my Mark Maron dose every once in a while. So we went to see him last night, and I haven't laughed at stand up comedy so hard and so long, and I did not expect it. I expected to be a little bit pissed off at him because of that aforementioned stuff, but he was so so fucking funny. But the first swear to God, like third, maybe even half of the show was about our age kind of people medical issues, like how much time we spend with the this hurts and the that hurts, and I'm going to this doctor. 40 seconds

Patti 02:51
rotator cuff at any point.

Pottymouth 02:52
So I think there was a shoulder thing. He had this hand tiggly. Yeah, he had a neck pain. He had neck pain. So close, close. But I was just dying, and I looked around the crowd, and it was totally our demographic. But he talked about like because he is that high strung that he clenches, and so I was like, "We're listening to clenching instead of clinching. Yeah, you are.

Pottymouth 03:13
So that's how it came around.

Patti 03:15
Wow.

Pottymouth 03:15
Yeah, but highly recommend. He's so he's on tour now. If he's in your area and you're of the sort to appreciate that kind of comedy, check it out. But he's recording his last shows, which are going to be the first weekend of December, something like that. So it will be on Netflix or HBO or something like that.

Patti 03:31
Excellent. Well, on on the note of old people having you know medical issues, I went to the doctor for the first time in a while. It was a new doctor, and I don't know how to take this. She walked in and looked at me and said, "I thought you'd look a lot older.

Pottymouth 03:42
That's a good thing. Is it a good? That is a good thing. Is that a good thing? Or

Patti 03:45
or did I like ahead of time report medical issues that she would expect from like an 80 year old or something? And I don't know. I mean, she knew how old I was. She had my my data, but

Pottymouth 03:53
no, I think you look young.

Patti 03:55
Okay, so I should I should be flattered and not like, uh oh.

Pottymouth 03:58
Right, right. No, like maybe externally

Patti 04:00
I look my age, but internally, I'm like my mother or something.

Pottymouth 04:03
Yeah, no, I think I think you're good. I think that, especially from a doctor, that's a good thing.

Patti 04:07
Okay, thank you. I feel I feel better already.

Pottymouth 04:08
Yay!

Patti 04:09
Excellent. Oh my gosh. Okay. Um. Hey, I went to see some live sports on Friday night. I went. The intern is playing softball, and I haven't seen the intern actually play a softball game in so many years. I've seen him coach more recently, but not actually play. So I had the best time just chilling and snacking and watching like a rec league just have a great time on the softball field. So you know what? If you baseball season's almost over, if you can't do that, there's always sports, and even if they're neighborhood sports, go do a thing. Either watch a thing, support your neighbor, support your kid, or whoever, or do it yourself. Have a good time outside playing some sports. On today's show, our boyfriends feature the Rookie of the Year race and a big 300. We've got a conundrum in the Roberto Clemente Award race. The police blotter is showing us unity and utter disregard at the exact. Same time, we have the WPBL playoffs. We've got international baseball, and this week we're cross training with geography. Cheers,

Pottymouth 05:06
cheers! I like branching out on the subjects. Was last week math?

Patti 05:09
Last week was math, so we have a little academic thing going. And I got to say, it wasn't on purpose. It kind of happened organically, but I don't mind

Speaker 1 05:16
it.

Patti 05:16
I don't mind. You know, I like to lead into a theme.

Pottymouth 05:18
That's good.

Patti 05:19
All right, we're going to start with our boyfriends, right? These are the guys that we pick in the off season. Each of us picks one guy per team for every team, and we follow that guy through through the season. We pick him because maybe he's good at baseball, or we think he's funny, or kind, or does interesting philanthropy, or a good backstory, whatever it is. Maybe we just like his parents. There's any number of reasons. We follow these guys. Follow these guys all all season long. So we're going to tell you about them, and and also a little bit about our former boyfriends who have been our boyfriends from from past seasons, and we're still following along. I'm going to start with Chase Delauder, who's my Cleveland guy this year. So he was out Tuesday and Wednesday. He had a right wrist injury a little while ago, and it kind of flares up every once in a while. So he was out a little bit. They had a day off Thursday, so that's great. Three days rest, comes back in on Friday. Plays fine. It's fine. They're playing the Athletics, but on Saturday he has a three-run homer against the Athletics in the first inning and scored another run in the third. They had they won 12 to six, which is a big deal. But a three-run homer in the first inning was not actually the most interesting thing that happened in that game. So, depending on what article you read, the lead is completely different because the other lead for this story is that Anhel Martinez homered from both sides of the plate during that game. So there you go. But that's that's my Chase the Lauder story for the for the day. Daylon Lyle, who's my Washington Nationals guy, he is really streaky, man. He'll have a slump, a slump, a slump, and then he'll just be amazing for several games, and then slump again. So he's not even out yet, but boy, he's in a hot streak right now. On Tuesday, against Philadelphia, he came in as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning, tied with Philly, had a three-run homer that was against Philly. I mean, the Nationals are already out. Yeah, they were already out of any postseason hopes. He said, "I know there's been a lot of moments this year where I didn't come through for the team or just didn't pass it down the line, but today felt good. So that was their fourth win in a row. Even after they were eliminated from the playoffs, they did lose to Philly the next night. But then they've beaten St. Louis two games in a row, including nine to one on Friday and on Saturday he hit his 22nd home run, a two one homer, and the eight to five win over the Cardinals. So he's had two homers and six RBI over his last four games.

Pottymouth 07:30
And I love seeing them still playing hard even after being eliminated. We were at Olives last night and they had the Cardinals Nats game on, and it was tense. Yeah, super tense. Yeah, and both teams, you know, eliminated at this point. Just I don't know. It's got to be heartening for fans. I mean, I know as a Nats fan, heartening to to see them still playing their hearts out.

Patti 07:51
Well, and and the things you know, the next guy I'm going to talk about is JJ Weatherhold is my St. Louis guy. There you go. And the things I was reading was like, okay, you know, friends, we're out. Yeah, but we can still watch JJ. Yeah, right. So that's actually

Pottymouth 08:03
in the big magnet on our fridges. Yeah, we can't not

Patti 08:06
see JJ because he's gigantic on on our refrigerators right now. I mean, you say this thing, you know, really big in Japan. Now it's really big on our fridge. Yes, exactly. So on Wednesday, he was activated from a 10 day IL stay stent for a right wrist right wrist tendinitis right, so they were they were bringing him back in a little bit slowly. They're being careful. They're not throwing him in full bore again because you know they're kind of out of the running at this point. But they want him to play, so they're kind of treating it. They called it a mini rehab, so watching inning. So he was activated on Wednesday. Thursday was a regular day off, so Friday he played the whole game and just hit a single. On Saturday he came in as a pinch runner in the ninth inning, stayed in as second base for yep the 10th inning and had an RBI single in the 11th inning. Wow! So you know they he played a lot on Friday, not so much on Saturday. But what he played on Saturday was a pretty important part of the game. So back to the the rookie of the year conversation. So it's you know it's Sal or JJ, right? And it depends what you're looking at. Sal absolutely has the offense numbers, and JJ absolutely has the defense numbers, and depends what you care about, right? Right now, defense is sexy, so I mean I'm I'm excited to say defense things. I don't think it's going to be enough. I think it's going to be a sale on offense because those are the numbers that people pay more attention to. But right now, JJ is in the 100th percentile among all big leaguers with 22 outs above average. The only person he is second to is Pete Crow Armstrong, who's got 26, and he's got four 4.7 wins above replacement to Stewart's 2.2 wins above replacement. Like Gold Glove, I'm looking at Gold Glove for him. I think that's the right way to reward him for this. But it's

Pottymouth 09:51
that's a good point.

Patti 09:52
But it's really it's it's very and you know had he not had IL stints, yeah, maybe those offensive numbers would be better. But the fact is, he did. So they're not. So there you go. So this is what we're working with right here. My Atlanta guy, who I really, really like, Drake Baldwin, has an OPS this week of 1.029 because you know seven days math is fun. Earlier this week, Atlanta was playing Chicago. He had a two one home run in the second game versus Chicago, and so the Atlanta lost the first game, they won the second game, lost the third game, but and they're currently six games up over over Philadelphia in the division, so they're leading the division by a bunch. They're currently trying to sweep Houston. He's had a double in in each of the games, but what he said about the stint with Chicago was, as you know, having recently been to Wrigley, the fans are freaking invested.

Pottymouth 10:41
Yeah.

Patti 10:42
So the the feel of it, he said, it felt like what he'd imagine a playoff game to be like. He said, I haven't been in the playoffs, but obviously I've watched some playoff games from the seats as a kid. That this crowd was into it. It's a really good team over there. So we got down early and had some momentum build at the end there. So it put us in situations that we know we're going to be in later this year. So it's good to have these experiences, and it's good to pull through here. So he was treating it as practice.

Pottymouth 11:09
It's a good practice for the playoffs. Sure.

Patti 11:11
All right. So my guy Jack. Oh my God. So there I am looking at my phone on Friday. I get a notice that Jack Hecnom, my my Kansas City guy, is back to day to day, which he had been off and on. Like, oh, now what did he do? So it's had a minor hand injury. You know what he did? He punched the dugout wall. This is not, you know, you know, sprained my wrist, you know, or you know, got hit by a pitch. No, no. So, yeah, he was actually benched. I mean, he was in fact put on day to day, but his manager benched him for Friday's game for disciplinary reasons.

Pottymouth 11:44
Understandable.

Patti 11:45
So he punched the wall after he struck out on Thursday in Houston. And here's the thing: he's had a really good season. He was the AL Player of the Month for August. He's second only to your guy on Carter Jensen for the team in home runs and RBI. But the past two weeks have been really rough, and he's super frustrated. And he's a kid who doesn't know how to deal with this yet. He said, "I just kind of boiled over in Houston. I cut my hand. Fortunately, it was nothing too serious, but I was very selfish and immature, and I put the team in a bad spot. That's something I don't want to do again. Came back on Saturday. He DH went two for three, scored two runs, had an RBI single. He stole a base, and they lost six to five. But he did his part. So you kind, you know, he's he was back doing the things he was supposed to do. My fun fact for you is those two team leaders, Jack and Carter, are the only two Kansas City players who have had to make public apologies this season.

Pottymouth 12:37
Oh wow! Right, Carter Carter throws alarm back. Yeah, I'll take over sleeping over punching a wall for like how to come out of it. However, I hope that, especially with these young guys or new, you know, new players ish, that the team can think about well, maybe we need to do some overall mental health support. Yeah, and like, what do you do when you're that frustrated? Because he's not the first guy, and not the first guy that we like to have done something like that. Yes. So it's just giving guys options, maybe a little bit more healthy.

Patti 13:09
Hey, before you tell us about your boyfriend's, can we talk about what we're drinking? Because I'm about to open our backup beer.

Pottymouth 13:14
So we can, except for I was just like like racking my brain for where it came from. It is a blueberry sour. It came

Patti 13:20
from Maine. I know it came

Pottymouth 13:22
from Portland, Maine, but I don't remember which brewery. It was the one with the pretty labels. I think it's called Violet Blues. I

Patti 13:30
think so.

Pottymouth 13:30
Yeah, yeah. Not Violet Femmes though. No, no, no. I'm just checking. And

Patti 13:34
we're about to knock off the other very fruity beer from our trip.

Pottymouth 13:38
The last. The

Patti 13:39
last of the hibiscus, I'm very cherry cherry puree hibiscus from this was Anvil and Forge.

Pottymouth 13:46
I think yeah, from from Springfield, Illinois. Yeah, yeah. No, Spring. Yeah, Springfield, Illinois. It's so many springs. So many springtimes. It's

Patti 13:54
true, and none of them are the Simpsons. Yeah, I'm

Pottymouth 13:57
just saying. Yep, and we're gonna end up going back to some local beer in the near future. Although I'm going to Massachusetts soon, I should bring back some beer.

Patti 14:04
Sure,

Pottymouth 14:04
just because you know we like talking about the beer. Talk about some boyfriends. Boyfriends, yeah. So I am really happy with Nassim Nunez, my Washington Nationals pick. He is my first and the guy I'm sticking with for the Nationals. I also have Jorbit Vivas, who I picked when he was with the Yankees and is now with the Nats. So I keep a special eye on him, and he did well last night. But Nasim is the one on my on my roster because we can only have one guy per team, and I was happy to see him get nominated or the the Roberto Clemente Award nominations each team were announced this week, and he is the Nationals nomination. He is the only current baseball boyfriend out of our picks for this year who is nominated. Although there's a shit ton of formers, which is a good thing because these are the kind of guys we like-the ones who are doing doing well for the community. Nasim's is really personal in a lot of ways. He is active in the Nats Academy, which we are super. Supportive of you know this is the Nats reaching out to the community and supporting youth and you know importantly DC is a hugely African American city and they're supporting the kids who especially wouldn't otherwise have the resources the opportunity to play baseball and the Nats do a great job in this. So Nasim, for him to be involved in this is really meaningful because as a kid he was involved in similar support situations for kids who wouldn't normally have the access to playing baseball. He was in the Breakthrough Series and he was in the Hank Aaron Invitational. So when he talks to the kids, he's speaking from the heart. He's speaking from his own experience, and he's walking the talk. So he's putting his body where his words are. He goes to the summer programs, does stuff both on field and in the classroom. He was involved in the holiday gift distribution, and when they had their graduation ceremony, I'm doing air quotes because graduation. Are they in your voice, boy? They were for eighth graders, you know, moving on from the academy, he was that guy at the podium with whoever handed out their certificates, giving the kids jerseys, and they were special jerseys. I didn't see a picture. I'm not quite sure what they were, but I'm guessing it's Nats related. And he's done more outreach with DC youth through the District of Columbia Interscholastic Athletics Association. So his nomination was announced sadly while he was on bereavement leave this past week for a cousin of his who he was very close with, and he said, so Nasim said, "Quote: My cousin who just passed away always told me in life you've got to have morals. So it's pretty dope that just being me can be pretty impactful. So this, like, he's realizing through what people are writing about what he's done what an impact he's having on the youth. There are 14 first-time nominees with this class of co-lead, which yeah, which is inspirational. You know, it's helpful for the future that we've got this many guys who are showing that they're getting involved. It's

Patti 17:00
not. Oh, of course it's Petalon, so it's always Petalons, right? Yeah,

Pottymouth 17:03
exactly. Yeah, exactly. He's still leading the league in steals, but it's gotten a lot tighter since the last time I talked about it. He had a big lead for a while, and now, as of the time of recording, and I'm knocking on the little wooden table, he is one above Chandler Simpson. I didn't write. It's Chandler Simpson, right? For in Tampa, who is super super fast, and three above Bobby Witt, but I think what sets Nasim apart for better for worse is he's getting all these steals with actually fewer on base attempts because he doesn't get on base because he has a really low average. He walks a decent amount, but not nearly enough to make up for the Bobby Witt hitting. You know, like Bobby's on base a lot because he's good with the bat. I thought it was interesting. Also, the statcast I was looking at all their stolen base stats, and Nasim also leads in quote runs via stolen bases, which means that he is scoring the most in the league because of having stolen a base. Oh, cool! I don't know how they they calculate. I like that

Patti 18:03
that exists. Yeah,

Pottymouth 18:05
definitely. So vote. You have a week. Next Sunday is the last day. Put in some votes for Nasim Nunez. There are so many deserving guys, but you know I'm just putting in my plug here for my boyfriend, another baseball boyfriend. I have not paid that much attention to. Jacob Marcy of Miami has been doing well, and I'm gonna call him a snake wrangler, despite being a late bloomer. Because this past week, Miami was playing the D-backs. Now Miami and the D-backs are both sort of like were, especially at the beginning of the week, looking from below at the wild card goal and having you know that hope against hope. Miami's out for sure now. Dbacks are probably going to be out, but they're struggling. So it was an interesting series for both of them, Monday through Wednesday. And in those three games, Jacob went five for 10 with two homers and three RBI for the Marlins. So the Marlins took that series from the D-backs two to one in this stressful time, in that Wednesday win, Jacob Marcy went two for three with two homers, a double, a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored. So the fun math for him this past two weeks is a 451 average and a 1.159 OPS. So the article, one of the articles that I read about him summed it up really well by saying, "Quote: The first half wasn't pretty, but in the second half, there's much more improvement. Before the All Star break, his average was 197 with a 614 OPS. After the All Star break, he's up to 298 with an 891 OPS. That is super high. So good to see Jacob Marcy doing well, and there's always next year for the Milan's. Kyle Teal, I just mentioning him because it was another tight race with impact. But and for those of you who look at our Instagram, you'll know that Patty's shirt shows that it's a happy ending for Cleveland so far. Knock again on the little table, right? But they. They the White Sox are in this tight race with Cleveland, and somebody's going to get the wild card. Somebody's going to get the division, and that has a lot of impact, right? So this past week, Kyle Teal, my White Sox guy, he had two RBI out of the seven runs scored. Yes, the White Sox were playing Cleveland on Monday. Kyle Teal got two of those runs. It was a seven to three win, so maybe they didn't absolutely need his two runs. But that's a lot of action for mr. Teal. No worries. Cleveland won the series against the White Sox by winning the next two games, and they now hold again, knocking this little table, the division by one. So Cleveland is playing Boston this week, Tuesday through Thursday, which makes a very interesting matchup because of I'm hoping that Boston clinches today against Tampa against so I don't have to stress this this thing against Cleveland. I

Patti 20:51
want you to help us stress. Yeah,

Pottymouth 20:52
and and Cleveland winning, I I think even against Boston actually doesn't hurt Boston so much because of how it's juggling, yeah. Boston's

Patti 21:02
either going to be a wild card or be a wild card. Yeah, where Cleveland is fighting to be either a wild card or the division champ. Right. Yeah.

Pottymouth 21:08
Right. So I think it's okay for Boston. I don't know. We'll see what happens.

Patti 21:12
Finch says you think it's okay for Cleveland for Cleveland

Pottymouth 21:14
to to to beat Boston. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Just check in. Yeah. Thank you. But although I really, I mean, I I'm feel more invested in in Boston beating Tampa today. You guys all know how that worked out, as opposed to the Cleveland matchup. And then they're playing the Cubs, and that doesn't really matter because the Cubs are just fine. So Kyle Teal, I when I started looking at him at the beginning of this week, I was thinking like this is an exciting continuation of his comeback. You know, off the IL, he has six hits from returning for the IL, which was much more impressive when I first started looking this on Monday because it's still that he had four hitless games. So there's Kyle. I'm hoping that he is again, you know, gonna gonna kick it in soon, especially because the White Sox need him. But we'll we'll see. I don't know. That's all AL, and I'm gonna stop rooting for them very shortly. Sal Stewart hat on the other hand, Cincinnati. I can root for them a lot longer, and and I want to just give that rookie the rookie of the year discussion that you brought up with JJ just the point of view from being baseball boyfriend for you know Sal's my baseball boyfriend, so I'm wondering if that like you talked about the IL stint. If it's that number of games played that's going to give Sal the actual advantage. So JJ lost over two weeks on this last IL trip, and he's had more IL time this year than Sal has. JJ's played 133 games. Sal's played 156. That's a 23 game advantage. And I'm wondering because there is, and I, you know, we talked about last week. You talked about it today. The war advantage, which is hugely defensive influences, versus the batting advantage, which is what Sal has. And who knows? I don't know how they decide these things, but I can give you some fun numbers. So for RBI, which is a pretty cool stat, you know, you're you're scoring runs for your team, for the league, all of MLB at the time of recording, Sal Stewart is second place, one RBI behind Alec Burlson, who has 111. Sal has 110 RBI on the season, followed by two Petes, Alonso, and Crow Armstrong are tied for 105 in the rookie RBI race, Sal is number one clearly, beating Kazuma Okamoto of Toronto by 22. Okamoto has 88, so he has 22. Sal has 22 more RBI than the number two guy, and JJ has 49. So again, it's related to time playing, right? So JJ is number 15 for rookies, tied for 164 for all. And then there's the rookie home run race, where Okamoto has one more home run than Sal, who's also tied with Munataka Murakami. And we talked last week about that fun three-way tie that all three of them are over 30, right?

Patti 23:58
Yeah. And then are all of you guys actually rookies? Yes, kind of rookies. Are you really rookies? Exactly, because

Pottymouth 24:03
because Okamoto and Murakama have both played baseball in Japan, and you know here here goes Sal. J J has 17 home runs tied for number seven. So I don't know. There's a lot of numbers up there. I'll be curious to see what happens because, and then the numbers that I'm not talking about, but I looked at a lot. The defensive stats are so crazy good for JJ, like just so crazy good. Yeah. So there's that. Last guy I want to mention is Jonathan Ronda, who I almost didn't because he's a you know Tampa player, and Red Sox have been playing Tampa this this weekend today is game three, and so yesterday before the game, what I usually do, what I often do when I have a baseball boyfriend who is on a streak or something like that, and you've seen me do this before, I'll write down maybe the name as a placeholder, but I won't write the actual stat, thinking that I don't want to jinx them.

Patti 25:00
Yep.

Pottymouth 25:00
So I was doing that. I was contemplating that yesterday because as of yesterday, before Saturday's game, Jonathan Aranda was on his six-game hitting streak, and then I thought, "Huh, I'm gonna actually write that down

Patti 25:12
because because the power exactly

Pottymouth 25:13
because I want that to end. So mr. Pottymouth expressed his doubt, and I said, "mr. Pottymouth, how long have you been a baseball fan, like I there is this power, and you know on on this past week, Jonathan Aranda, I was hoping maybe he got it out of his system. He had a two home run three RBI game on the 13th against Houston, so yesterday after I wrote these notes, update, Jonathan Aranda got a home run against the Red Sox. So my question is: So I told mr. Pottymouth also, like, it maybe the the results will prove or disprove me, or maybe I'll just know how to spin it, and that's what I'm going to spin it because it's it's a double reverse jinx, right? Because I put it down knowing that I actually wanted the opposite, so that's why it happened. Yep,

Patti 26:05
I got nothing. Yeah, you just you dazzled me. You you should run for office. I'm just saying you have that kind of skill, that kind of spin. All

Pottymouth 26:11
right. Well, he did Homer yesterday against the Red Sox. Tampa beat the Red Sox two to one, and it was a harsh loss for me for the Red Sox because Brian Baio had the fucking outing of his season. He started first of all from the first inning, right? And TBD was listed as the pitcher until like an hour before the game, I think. And we're like, boy, you know, TBD has been doing kind of you know iffy. We're a little nervous about that guy, and then they switched DBD to Bayo for starting. He went eight innings, giving up one run, which was that home run to Jonathan Aranda, 11 strikeouts, and then Whitlock lost it in the ninth with a walk off.

Patti 26:56
You know, I'm going to go with pitting this on mr. Potty Mouth because I think you do have jinx power, but I think his questioning your jinx power maybe weakened it.

Pottymouth 27:04
Thank you,

Patti 27:04
because it's like you know how you have to clap so Tinker Bell knows you believe in fairies, and you keep. I think I think he wasn't clapping, and you could you could have clapped there, and he chose not to.

Pottymouth 27:12
Actually, that's really good. So you do have power. I'm

Patti 27:14
gonna break in, and before I go to former boyfriends and say the thing I forgot to post in here was where we are in in who's clinched playoff words, and I I want to say it out loud because I think when you guys hear this on Tuesday or later, there'll be like two or three times as many teams who have clinched because this weekend I think is going to make or break a lot. But as going in going into this at you know 2o'clock on Sunday, the the only division clinches are Milwaukee and LA Dodgers, right? So over in the National League are the only two that have divisions that have clinched. All the other ones are up for grabs, including all of the American League ones. And the only other things that have clinched are just playoff berths. You're somewhere, including Atlanta, who I get. I said was six games ahead, right? And the NL East, and they still haven't clinched. But then Tampa Bay and the Yankees have clinched berths. And I just, I we're, I'm going to take a little break here to say I am tired of commentators and journalists saying that means that the American League is terrible. I don't think it does. I think the American League is more even.

Pottymouth 28:18
It's competitive.

Patti 28:19
It's more competitive.

Pottymouth 28:20
Yeah.

Patti 28:20
I mean you've got superstars and non entities in the National League and the American League. It's anybody's ball game, which I think is more fun. So stop

Pottymouth 28:28
absolutely dragging

Patti 28:29
on the American League.

Pottymouth 28:30
Absolutely,

Patti 28:31
that's my my little commercial in there. Now we're going to go into two former boyfriends, the Petes.

Pottymouth 28:35
Yeah, I'm

Patti 28:35
going to talk about the Petes very briefly. Pete Crowe Armstrong, former boyfriend from the Cubs, needs three or more stolen bases to get to a 4040 season. Only six other players in MLB history have done that. Right now he's at 44 and 37. So with

Pottymouth 28:50
a week to go,

Patti 28:50
I'm hoping I'm hoping he gets there because that's that would be just freaking cool.

Pottymouth 28:54
Yeah,

Patti 28:54
Pete Alonso,

Pottymouth 28:55
what a guy,

Patti 28:56
Pete Alonso. Okay, oh so based on what you were saying about when you brought up the Pete's with RBI leaders, he's the leader in the American League, which makes him the only MLB player ever to lead in in RBI in both the American League and the National League. You mean he repeated? He repeated. He repeated. Yes, he absolutely did. All right, but the really big thing he did this week was hit his 300th career home run. Even better, he did it in his return to Citi Field. He used the 100 100 and 71st MLB player to reach 300 home runs. Wow! He hit 264 of those 300 as a Met. Wow! So all the Met fans who had them were wearing their Alonso jerseys to welcome the Orioles to town because they all wanted to see their friend Pete. Every time I got up to bat, he got a standing ovation. I mean, it was it was all Pete all the time. It was bring Pete back. We love you, Pete. When he hit his 300th home run, everybody stood. Everybody clapped. You know, for and against the manager of the O's, Craig Alburnaz, and I haven't really seen a curtain call from a guy wearing gray pants.

Pottymouth 29:59
Yeah.

Patti 29:59
Yeah, so that means visiting team. For those of you don't know about the who was wearing white and who's wearing gray, that means visitors don't usually get curtain calls.

Pottymouth 30:06
Yeah, and huge credit to Mets fans for that. I think that is really really classy. And did you see? I think it was Sean Minaea. One of the pitchers was like criticized them for that. Like you know. Oh

Patti 30:16
no. Yeah,

Pottymouth 30:16
and I was like, are you kidding me? Yeah. You know, look at where we are in the season. Look what this guy has done. Looks what he meant, and look how honestly the Mets fucked him over. And and I think fans were I know fans were pissed that the Mets didn't keep him, and so let them love him.

Patti 30:33
And here's what I want to say about him as boyfriend material. His when he was interviewed by the media after the game, which you know the O's won. He had his 300th, his historic home run, and here's what he said. Here's his response to how does it feel to hit your 300th home run or whatever he said. It takes everybody, and today pitching did an outstanding job. We had some great at bats, and then how about Kobe Mayo, three run inside the park homer in extra innings right there. Again, it takes a whole village, a whole team. I'm just so proud of this group. So proud of this. Obviously, super happy about the individual stuff. A number 300. It's a nice round number. But I'm just so proud of this group. The way we fought today, it's an unbelievable team win.

Pottymouth 31:15
That's amazing.

Patti 31:16
So yeah, most valuable Oriole this year for sure. He he's really flourishing in Baltimore. I think I think Baltimore is a better place for him for that kind of guy. He is sorry, New York. I know you miss him, and I get why you do. Right. I didn't see this side of him before. You know, we did. He didn't get that kind of coverage. I didn't know all this stuff, and now I do, and like the team leadership, and that's all very exciting. Here's why we all want to be Mike, Nick, and Chris. Mike, Nick, and Chris are the Mets fans who were there in their Alonso jerseys, and they were the guys who caught home run ball number 300. So they get to come down to meet Pete Alonso, their hero.

Pottymouth 31:56
Yeah.

Patti 31:56
Pete comes out of the locker room and hands each of them a beer.

Pottymouth 32:00
Yeah.

Patti 32:01
How great! How great! He gives them, you know, signed baseballs and bats, signs their jerseys that they're wearing, and then he even offers them tickets to a game in Baltimore, which they took him up on because they were in the audience at yesterday's game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and they got lots of play from the the the Baltimorean answers.

Pottymouth 32:20
Wow! Like

Patti 32:21
they're excited too. Like look, look at look what Pete's making happen, right? So really excited about that. Yay, yay, Pete.

Pottymouth 32:27
That was it's such a cool clip. That's it's all over social media of him talking to them and just being like, thank you guys. Like it was it's so amazing. They're like, no, thank you. Like he's just such a nice guy, and he's the O's Clemente nominee. Yes, correct.

Patti 32:43
Yeah.

Pottymouth 32:44
Okay, so I want to go back to the Roberto Clemente nomination because of a conundrum, a Clemente conundrum. I cannot say that once, let alone five times fast. But like you know, Pete Alonso and the aforementioned Nassim Nunez, they have a certain characteristic, and according to the award, it says, "quote, the Roberto Clemente Award is bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy, and positive contributions, both on and off the field. And I want to focus on that concept of character. Now, the Padres nominee is Jason Adam, relief pitcher, and in the nomination it says Jason Adam and his wife Kelsey have turned his success on the mound into a lifeline for children facing abuse and family crisis. Very admirable community involvement, philanthropy that he and his wife have done. Noted that a lot of it has been support through an organization called Olive Crest, which is a religious-based charity aiding children suffering from abuse and homelessness. Now, I don't have anything against religious-based charities. I just kind of feel like it's interesting to note for both him and one more guy that I'm going to talk about because there's a bigger issue here. So, so Jason Adam was also nominated by Tampa. He was previously with by with Tampa in 2024. Even though he was traded to the Padres at the deadline, so at the time the nominations came out, he was with the Padres, but still nominated by Tampa. But both that Tampa nomination and this Padres nomination are coming after 2022, where he was one of the bunch of Rays players that we talked about at that time who refused to wear the Rays Rainbow Pride logo, and to make things worse, where I feel like Jason deserves a lot of the scrutiny on this, is because he's the guy who spoke to the press on behalf of himself and the four other relievers at the time, saying, "Quote, when we put it on our bodies, I think a lot of guys decided that it's just a lifestyle that maybe not that they." Down on anybody or think differently. It's just that maybe we don't want to encourage it if we believe in Jesus, and to that I have to say, just fuck you, just fuck you. It is not a lifestyle. It is people's identity, and I know I'm not Christian, but I know a lot of lovely Christians who also are either gay or or allies, it's not something that is against Christianity to support pride. If if I mean if I understand, like maybe you can help me a little bit with this Jesus thing, but you know it seems like he was all about like loving other people and not judging, right? As

Patti 35:40
yourself,

Pottymouth 35:41
so there's there's a lot of shit in the Bible that folks don't do today, like stoning people, like mixing types of material in your clothing. Like there's so many details that you could go into, but they chose to focus on this one interpretation and blow it up.

Patti 35:59
And the bottom line is, no matter where that what they're attributing that opinion to, they are promoting division. They are promoting bigotry. I don't care if it's a religious background or a political background. Or I grew up in a small town. I didn't know any better, but I still believe this. You're less than I am.

Pottymouth 36:19
Yeah,

Patti 36:19
you can't. That's not. It's not Roberto Clemente material right there. I'm sorry. I don't care why. Why you think someone's less than you? If you do that, you're out.

Pottymouth 36:26
Exactly. Yep. So it just pains me that the Padres and the Rays both made this decision based on you know. I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of guys on those teams who have done charitable work who are not bigots. Yeah, like you can do that. You can have the philanthropy and the character, and that's what the the supposed to be the whole person. Yeah, not just

Patti 36:49
check this one box that you do charity work.

Pottymouth 36:51
So there's another name that was nominated that a lot of us will recognize, which is Josh Hader, who is nominated by the Astros for the second year in a row, and we remember back when his racist and homophobic tweets surfaced, and it happened. I think it was his rookie year. He was definitely young in 2018 after the All Star Game when he was a hot pitcher with Milwaukee, and this these tweets came up. Now they were from 2011. He was 17 years old at the time, he did the whole official apology thing, but he did quite a bit of it, and he did it publicly. Now I can't judge whether he really believes the apology. He did go through quote sensitivity training, so there is evidence of him having to actually deal with it. Whereas I didn't see any of that related to Jason Adam? Interestingly, Hayter has a lot of the same characteristics in his philanthropy. He's also working with quote underserved kids, kids who are homeless, kids who have other issues. He has his own philanthropy called Hater's Heart, which was established in 2024, and it works with Covenant House, which is another religious-based organization for kids. Now, I think very highly of Covenant House. I actually met Covenant House workers when we were in Guatemala many years ago, and they were doing amazing things there. Really, really important. So I don't have again anything against religious-based charities. I just find it kind of notable that they're both looking at kids through a religious lens, and I don't know. I'm just putting it out there. It's just

Patti 38:32
and hater again. Apology to her, absolutely. But has he done anything?

Pottymouth 38:39
I don't know. I mean,

Patti 38:41
he was saying, you know, I was a kid, I didn't know better. Well, you know better now. All right, is any of your work focused on this? Right. Are you going to try to make up for it now? You know better.

Pottymouth 38:49
So that's what I would like to see. Like they both have philanthropy that there's no clarity around whether it still has some sort of veil of Homophobia, honestly, right? So we will find out who wins the Clemente Award at the World Series. I'm really hoping it's not Jason Adam or Josh Hader. It

Patti 39:08
won't be.

Pottymouth 39:09
Yeah, it

Patti 39:10
won't be. I would knock on the table. I could reach it, but I can't. Anyway, so police blotter. This one surprised me, coming and going. The first one was when the article that I read about this. This is about sports betting and trying to tamp down on on those who are making bets taking their losses out on athletes. So it showed unity between five sports leagues and their unions, because NFL, MOB, MLS, NBA, NHL, and all of their players' unions got together, signed a letter, a joint letter, formally asking state regulators to deal with those threats and the harassment that happens to players and staff in the context of sports betting. I lost, therefore you and your family should die. Make that stop. So they have a jointly signed letter that asks gaming commissions and regulators to require sports books to implement a lifetime ban on betters if they do that. If they have quote abusively harassed or issued threats of violence toward athletes, coaches, or other athletic staff and their families, their response from the president of the Sports Betting Alliance, which is like the trade association for all these sports books, right? Said legal sports books already have policies to suspend or ban customers who engage in threatening or abusive behavior. How's that working for you, right? Not well. And he's basically inviting. Oh, you guys should feel free to do your part too. Put it right back on the leagues and the unions. Well, you should go ahead and do something too. Okay, so I'm like, all right. So that was that. The unpredictable part was all the the ownership and management of these leagues, and also all of their unions got together. That's incredible unity. Also, not surprised by the response from the trade association. Here's where my second. This is where the going surprise is. No women's leagues or unions signed the letter. You know why? They didn't know about

Pottymouth 41:07
it. Yeah, they didn't know

Patti 41:09
about it. They weren't included.

Pottymouth 41:10
Of course,

Patti 41:11
no one said, "Hey, we're doing this.

Pottymouth 41:12
Right.

Patti 41:13
They have like sex toys being thrown on the court. Right. During you know WNBA games. I mean, there's a lot. There's a there's a lot happening. The best quote about it was from the WNBA executive director, who said it's deeply disappointing that given the very public and troubling incidents of betting related harassment experienced by our members over the past several seasons, the NBA determined that WNBA players did not warrant inclusion in a joint position statement intended to address this very issue. Oops! Oh, we forgot. Oh, maybe girls matter.

Pottymouth 41:48
Yeah. I

Patti 41:48
mean, like, don't worry your pretty little heads about it. The boys will take care of it. What the hell is that about? I mean, I was so excited that yay! Look at this unity. Look at them like joining together and saying we're gonna. We need to stop this. Here's what you need to do here's your you know your solution whatever nope

Pottymouth 42:03
not a shocker but sad not a shocker but disappointing yeah yeah so women are playing sports and women are playing baseball and at the time of recording we don't know who won because we are recording again at 3o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday and game four is starting right about now.

Patti 42:26
I'm sorry, game four.

Pottymouth 42:27
Sorry, the women's professional baseball league, baseball, women playing baseball. Anyway, that that game four is starting now. Oops, I I think it's really cool that you know they've been kind of working the things out this season, this first season as as time goes on. I'm kind of sad that we didn't get any cool promos, but there have been like bobblehead nights since then, and they're having all sorts of promos for the four so far championship games. The first game has this really cool three day commemorative championship ticket that goes kind of back and forth between the women that the teams honor with their names and star players for each team. It looks like a fun thing. So if you have one, I am super jealous. The second game they had a WBPL PBL. I have problems with those two sounds. Championship bucket hat. Who doesn't love a bucket hat? Game three they had a commemorative championship scorecard and poster, and today's game four is a championship baseball. On game one, for you know this first ever championship series for the women's professional baseball league was going is what had a lot of fanfare, and part of that fanfare was planned to be Mabel Blair, the queen of baseball, who came out and did the first pitch when the league started, was going to come out and do the first pitch for the first game of the championship, and her press release said that she was quote unexpectedly not feeling well enough to travel. So she's 99. I would like everyone to just take a moment to send your most loving, positive vibes Maybell's way. She expressed her disappointment in not being able to be there. So we're just hoping that she's feeling better and will be back for next season. Currently, at the time of recording, the Queens, Los Angeles queens, are up two games to one over San Francisco, so if the Queens win today, the Queens are the champions, which I'm pretty surprised because San Francisco was the first to clinch. They were in first place by a decent amount. If it goes to Game Five, which I'm very much hoping so that I can watch it, it will or would be on Tuesday. So we'll see what happens.

Patti 44:39
Wow, wow, yeah, vibes to Maybell and excitement for the playoffs. All right, we have a ridiculous, ridiculous fantasy league, which is almost done. We've got one more week to go. So next time we talk, we will know who the winner is. And I will say it: another week in a row, no one has changed position, although some of the scoring has. Tightened up a little bit. I don't know if there'll be some crazy push from two or three who are previous winners to come take over, but it looks right now tried in some tap rooms is holding the lead the lead pretty solidly. So um, down to the wire. We'll announce next weekend and then we'll get to putting together a lovely prize package, which is a fun thing to do.

Pottymouth 45:19
Super super fun, international baseball as the MLB year kind of comes to a close and the women's professional year comes to a close, we want to highlight baseball in other places. In Mexico, they're going to be transitioning for from the LMB, the Liga Mexicano, the baseball to the LMP. Shoot, I forget the BP. I think the baseball de Pacífico. So there is a winter league in Mexico, and some of the teams actually stay the same. But the league that happens during the MLB season is their main league, and the Toros de Tijuana won. They won over the the Olmecas de Tabasco. We talked about this a little bit last week, and Justin Turner and his family. I've just got to say that they're adorable. Have you seen his little kid? No,

Patti 46:07
for a while. So

Pottymouth 46:08
his son Beau just turned two in July, and he has dad's red hair, like just shocking red hair, and is so cute to see the family celebration right after the Toros took it. And Justin talked about how important it is for him to be able to share this with his kid because this is the only Justin Turner's 41 years old, right? He had a long career with MLB. He first signed with Baltimore in 2009. He was my baseball boyfriend pick in 2019 from the Dodgers after he played for the Mets, and then after the Dodgers he went to Boston, then Toronto and Seattle, and then Chicago. All of those were really brief. the The Dodgers time there was really important to him and important to Dodgers fans, and very long. And Dodgers fans, I think it's super cool that they can come see him, or they did go see him in Tijuana. Tijuana's is right there. This right there. Yeah. So he actually he and his family suburb of

Patti 47:06
San Diego exactly location wise.

Pottymouth 47:08
So he and his adorable family lived in San Diego, and he commuted to Tijuana. And he said that you know it was between 20 minutes and two hours depending on how traffic was. But for his LA fans, it was just a little over two hours did well, or more, depending on traffic, right? To go from LA to Tijuana, and the the fans overall said that the tickets were cheaper and the food was better than going to Dodger Stadium. That travels for sure. Sure, this was also the first year that the Torres de Tijuana sold jersey with players' names, and the article that I saw-I don't know if this is an official stat-said 98% of them were Turner, because and probably

Patti 47:48
sent to the United States. That's what I'm guessing. That's what I'm guessing.

Pottymouth 47:50
So I'm hoping the Omegas de Tabasco can wake up because we talked about this last week that it would be so cool to have a Seth Beer, a beer Tabasco shirt. So I want to see that happen? His nickname, so Justin Turner's nickname is Barbara Roja, which means red beard, and he talked about just loving the vibe and loving having his kid there. He said, you know, he admired his teammates whose kid in in L.A. Seeing over the years, kids grow up in the clubhouse and just having kids around. So he wanted that experience for his kid, and he loved doing it in Mexico because he said it's the three hours of music, dancing, drinking, and entertainment with a sprinkle of baseball. There's not really any lines they won't cross down here. He's 41. The question is, what happens next? Is he going to be in Mexico next year. Is he gonna go abroad? All he said is that I'm playing until I want to be done playing. He, I didn't realize that when he got married in 2018, his wedding was officiated by Oral Hershiser. Sure,

Patti 48:52
it was. Why wouldn't it? Of course,

Pottymouth 48:53
it was. Like you know, another Dodgers icon who played until he was 41. So will he take a page from his, you know, the the fish in from his wedding, from

Patti 49:03
the oral history.

Pottymouth 49:04
Could be, could be. So we'll see what happens next year. So game six, the the Tortos de Tijuana won two to nothing over the Omegas. The Omecos had won the first game of the series, but you know, first game doesn't mean it. They had won Game One and Game Four. Hernan Perez was the MVP of this Serial Dere, the Championship Series of LMB. Hernan Perez is also a former MOB player. He was in the league from 2012 to 21. His best years were with Milwaukee by far, but also played Detroit and Chicago. And his final season, as it seems like this happens to a lot of really like esteemed players, was with the Washington Nationals. It's kind of like they get these guys for their last like squeeze it out year.

Patti 49:50
We appreciate your your veteran status.

Pottymouth 49:51
Right.

Patti 49:52
Thank you. Good night.

Pottymouth 49:53
Yep. Please mentor our our newbies here. Yep. In Venezuela, they're not playing yet, so this is the winter season. For the LVPP Liga Venezolana, and when the the league starts very soon, and I'll get the dates, you know, as soon as MLB is over for the start of the winter leagues, there are four players who will not be starting. So these four players were recently, and I don't know why this takes so much time, guilty of substances last season, PEDs, and they receive suspensions. Three of them got suspensions of 13 games, so they start the next season 13 games later than everybody else, and one guy 20 games later. Wow! Now the name that a lot of us will recognize from this is Rugned Odor.

Patti 50:38
Uh huh.

Pottymouth 50:38
So Rugned was with MLB from 2014 to 23, starting with Texas, and a lot of you will remember that famous sucker punch that he hit on Jose Bastista. Check out that picture. But then from Texas went to New York and Baltimore and San Diego Padres, and in Venezuela he was playing with the Magallanes, who were the champions of last season? So he got the ring or the trophy or whatever it was. So a lot of folks are like, "Oh well, now the championship is tainted because he was found guilty of performance-enhancing substances. But the Bravos de Margarita had two guys who were on this list, and they lost. Although not badly, they were third place, but still they didn't win, and they had more guys than than the Navagantes did. And number four was on Caribes de Answartegu. So I'm just saying that so I can say Ansuatigi, of course. So you know they're going to be starting these suspensions soon. It's Odar's case was different from the others, so Rignan Odor was busted for amphetamines, whereas the other three guys were busted for steroids. And I learned some new Spanish vocabulary, which which is trastorno por deficit atención y y proactividad, which is ADHD in Spanish. So basically, Odor was taking medication that he had been taking even when he was in MLB, which was approved when it was being supervised for his ADHD. So apparently, there was some delay in the documentation about his ADHD medicine that arrived late to the Navagantes. The forms didn't get filed. LVBP came down with the penalty, and they're sticking to it. So the Navagantes are continuing to support him, saying, "You know, this is a different drug than the other guys were doing, and there was a reason for it. But they're respecting the decision, and he's got to be suspended for the 13 games.

Patti 52:44
Wow! Yeah, it's not my business, but I'm wondering if his diagnosis came before or after the sucker punch. Yeah,

Pottymouth 52:52
that's a really good question. That's just me being

Patti 52:55
nosy, and it's inappropriate for me to ask. So I apologize.

Pottymouth 52:57
I think it's it's it's fair. Sure,

Patti 53:00
we're gonna cross train with geography because I'm on my little academics kick right now. I like that. So we keep talking about Ellie Dela Cruz, and this is like the fastest or the hardest or the farthest or whatever thing that he's done this time. Okay, this actually is probably meaningful for you because on our road trip we drove from Kentucky to Ohio, and remember all the interesting things about crossing the Ohio River and kind of like what what that meant, like the Cincinnati airport's actually in Kentucky and things like that. Right, we had this conversation. So the Great American Ballpark is on the Ohio River. Ali Dela Cruz is very good at baseball. Yeah, hits the ball hard. He hit a 457 foot home run, left the ballpark, landed in the Ohio River. Now this is different than San Francisco when it hops into you know into the Bay. That happens on the regular. Yeah, it's different than Oriole Park at Camden Yard when it hops out of the ballpark lands on Utah Street. That happens. Sure, balls don't hit the Ohio River. They really, they really don't. So the Athletics said, "Huh, did it leave the state? Did it land in Kentucky? How do we figure this out? So the question they had to solve was: Is the border at one of the edges of the Ohio River, like the Ohio side, like where the land that is Ohio starts, or is it on the other side where Kentucky, the land that is Kentucky, ends, or is it somewhere in the river?

Pottymouth 54:22
Wow!

Patti 54:23
So the answer was decided by the Supreme Court in 1980.

Pottymouth 54:28
Wow!

Patti 54:30
The Supreme Court in 1980 said the border between Kentucky and Ohio should be the low water mark of the Ohio River as it existed in 1792 when Kentucky was admitted to the Union,

Pottymouth 54:43
that's fascinating.

Patti 54:44
It took five more years to figure out where that was. So in 1985, wow, that's when they determined where the actual physical border is between Ohio and Kentucky. And didn't we say we our bridge didn't have a welcome to Ohio sign? Right. Probably didn't know the math. Yes. Whatever. But for the record, it did not land. It that home run did not land in Kentucky. Oh, it would have had to go 910 feet to get to the Kentucky part of the Ohio River.

Pottymouth 55:13
That's extreme. But

Patti 55:13
I love that that was a thing that had to get figured out, and how far back they had to go to figure it all out.

Pottymouth 55:19
That's awesome.

Patti 55:20
Yeah. Okay. Hey. So this is kind of like a big week. It's last week of the season.

Pottymouth 55:25
I can't believe this is the last week of MLB. Yeah.

Pottymouth 55:27
Yeah. I mean, there's always more baseball to watch, but this is a very suspenseful week, especially for me as a Red Sox fan. We need to win one fucking game before next weekend, or have other things happen so that, yeah, mr. Pottymouth to make me not feel better last night. Said actually, you know, there's this one arrangement of circumstances in which we don't make it, and this has to happen, and this and it has to do with Houston winning and blah blah. And I was like, I don't want to go there. You know, it's like a point 2% chance.

He's really like you know harshing your harshing my buzz. Harshing your buzz. I don't like that. I'm gonna go talk with him about that. I don't know. Yeah, so I get one more game. I'm going Friday night.

Pottymouth 56:04
That's so to see

Patti 56:04
the Nats host the Mets. But as my friends say, no, we're going to go see the fireworks after the Nats game. I'm like, I guess a little for me. There's a little bit more to it than that, but it'll be fun. I'm excited about that. But then everything ends on Sunday.

Pottymouth 56:16
Yeah. So we are actually going to record Monday. So we all of the games will have finished, and they're all happening, I think, at 3o' five Eastern Standard Time next Sunday. So catch as many games as you can before now and then, which

Patti 56:33
means we'll have like actual wrap-up stuff to talk about on Monday, including the winner of the Fantasy League

week. Oh my

And now that I'm going to have a little bit of free time this week, I'm hoping to go through those audio files and get some of those up on Patreon. I know I'm sorry, folks, I'm way behind on that, but I will try to salvage what I can from our mini mics and put fun stuff out there. So check out Patreon, and also it's just a good way to interact with a fun community. We really appreciate our Patreon folks, and you know have access to us as well.

Yay! Go see some live baseball while you can, and if you can't, go see some softball in your neighborhood. I can I can attest it's a fun thing to do. Fight the man. It's the right thing to do. Send your game balls to Meredith, and until next week, say good night, Potty Moo.

Pottymouth 57:45
Good night, Potty Mou. All right. I think we sound like we always do, which is just fine. Which

Patti 58:07
is which is lovely and delightful.

Pottymouth 58:10
There we go.

Patti 58:10
And funny and knowledgeable and engaging.

Pottymouth 58:12
Right. And and audible. And audible.

Patti 58:14
Wait, that bar is a little bit lower, but then we can reach it.

Pottymouth 58:18
Yes.

Patti 58:18
You want to be able to reach the bar.

Pottymouth 58:20
I need to reach the side. I know you do. Oh my god.

Patti 58:22
Oh my god.
